The eastern seaboard area of Africa had less rainfall. As per the study done under NASA by the Goddard Space Flight Center the decrease is because of the nearby Indian Ocean warming up. It has reduced by almost 15 per cent since year 1980. Countries like Zimbabwe, Malawi, Zambia, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Kenya had been having less rainfalls cause of the irregularities in the moisture transportation between the land and the ocean. Co-researcher Chris Funk says this is going to continue like this for next 20 – 25 years. The food production activity is definitely going to get affected due to scanty rainfall or for lack of adequate rains. The study has given warning to the agricultural sector of the East African countries.

Delhi the capital is hosting Commonwealth Games in 2010. But are we totally ready to take up this challenge to hold such a big event. The Government is running and rushing out the work of Commonwealth games village to accommodate all the athletes coming from different countries to participate. The village is just no where near completion even now when we have hardly left just 1.5 year or so for the games to start. The government of Delhi is constructing flyovers, starting metros, and broadening the roads all over Delhi. The connectivity of the roads from Delhi to NCR and NCR to Delhi is being improved by all means. But it will take time and Government has to rush.
Indian Institute of Space Technology
The Indian Institute of Space Technology has started a four year B Tech courses in Avionics and Aerospace and the five year integrated post graduate course in Applied Sciences. This has made IIST the world’s first Space University offering under graduate programs to the students. The first batch of the students consists of 138 students out of which 11 are women. The student studying here learns the technology and can see it in action, which is not possible anywhere else. Even at IIT they don’t provide course for avionics. IIT has course for aeronautics but in that emphasis is more on flight mechanism and not on astronautics, which is available in IIST. They are also planning to come out with three post graduate program in specific areas of interest to ISRO.

India’s social structure on HIV and AIDS
We have been discussing this for long now but the problem still remains the same. In India women are at a much higher risk of falling prey to HIV/AIDS than men because while having sex a woman’s body has more sections exposed to the HIV virus then men. Moreover there is a larger virus present in sperm than in vaginal secretions. In India the society is male dominated and women are depended on men financial and even emotionally thus allowing the men to control their lives and the right as to when, with whom and in what circumstance they will have sex. While in cities the sex workers are aware of the consequences and reasons for HIV/AIDS, women in villages or small towns who are sex workers are more ignorant and are falling prey to HIV/AIDS. At time in villages even housewives are forced to sell themselves to survive. Rapes also make women prey to HIV/AIDS. More over women buying condoms and saying no to sex is not taken in the right way in the Indian Society.
