Indira Gandhi International Airport is suffering heavily due to rains. The authorities are finding it difficult because of heavy rains. The rain water is entering the arrival hall also. The heavy rains have led to water logging everywhere at the terminals and to the airside also. The Airport authorities took the services of GMR to control the passengers. Passengers were already drenched in water while getting down from flight and before reaching the arrival hall and were shocked to see the water filled arrival hall. Housekeeping staff were all employed in removing the water from the hall by wipers and by water sucking machines. It was informed that a slope which was recently built ends at the hall because of all the water comes into the Arrival Hall.
IGI Airport became a water pool
January 12th, 2012Indian Ocean warming up
November 16th, 2009The eastern seaboard area of Africa had less rainfall. As per the study done under NASA by the Goddard Space Flight Center the decrease is because of the nearby Indian Ocean warming up. It has reduced by almost 15 per cent since year 1980. Countries like Zimbabwe, Malawi, Zambia, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Kenya had been having less rainfalls cause of the irregularities in the moisture transportation between the land and the ocean. Co-researcher Chris Funk says this is going to continue like this for next 20 – 25 years. The food production activity is definitely going to get affected due to scanty rainfall or for lack of adequate rains. The study has given warning to the agricultural sector of the East African countries.

August 5th, 2009Global warming is the major concern of this century. So, this year it became the major tackling issue on the World Environment Day. So, steps must be taken to fight the global warming by decreasing the levels of Carbon use or kicking off the habit of CO2 usage. So, different ways to combat it are if one travels by air with luggage weight below 20 kg, then one can save about 2 million tones a year of carbon. People should go for jogging in a park rather on electric treadmill. One should use wind-up alarm clock rather than an electric one which would save about 48g of CO2 per day. One should avoid using electric toothbrush, use train rather than car for daily commute, and etc.
